Here’s a thought, why not build a forest right in the middle of the city? The urban wildlife needs a home too. 🖤
The Philippine Eagle Foundation was (and still is) looking for volunteers to help rehabilitate a 6-hectare land near Dumoy, Toril to be converted into a carbon forest. Coi happily answered the call and tagged us along. A not so typical tree planting soirée where you bring your own seedlings to plant, instead we were educated to look for wildings (seedlings that grows near the mother tree). They prefer it this way as they want to encourage the community to plant native trees like the Talisay.
It would take a team of four to uproot the wildlings and transport it to the reforestation area. The kids were up for it and even helped with the transplantation process. 😊
Our group (21 people) uprooted and transplanted a total of 42 wildlings😊.
The activity will run till March 2019, if you want to help you may message the Philippine Eagle foundation via FB.
